Tell me about your latest book and why we should read it?
My last release was A Mother’s Confession – and there’s a twist – you could read it to see if you can figure it out before the reveal, but personally, I hope people read it and find the subject matter as shocking and engrossing as I did. My next book is out early next year, it’s called Before I Let You go – you should read it if you like books about real-world moral dilemmas that are nothing like black and white.

What’s the strangest fan question or request you’ve received?
I had one email from a fan who read my book about church-sponsored forced adoption and was angry about the ending. She wanted a sequel where the main characters had all became people of faith and returned to/forgave the church for taking their babies/parents away.
If you could co-write with anyone in the world (alive or dead) who would it be?
Now this question is so easy – it would be Jodi Picoult!!!!!!!!!!!
Tell me something nobody else knows about you (yet!).
I talk to my dogs. A lot. I am currently unable to drive due to some health issues so I am now a full time writer and hermit – so my dogs are my first-pass editorial team and cheer squad. They seem unimpressed by their new roles, which I’m a little offended by.
Finally please recommend 3 books that you have recently read and tell me why you’ve chosen these.
I read Ellie Wiesel’s Night for the first time recently – not a fun read, but such an important one. I think everyone should read it once.
The last ‘for fun’ book I read was The Art of Keeping Secrets by Rachael Johns. It’s the perfect blend of wonderful friendships, issue-driven drama and fun.
And finally – The Handmaid’s Tale, by Margaret Atwood. It’s a great time to read or re-read it with the amazing mini-series on television, and it’s just such a great story – every bit as brilliant and terrifying as it was when I first read it years ago.
